2-Step Verification Enforcement

Beginning Apr 6, 2025, 2-Step Verification will be enforced for all 710 Labs Leadership.

Why is this important?

2-Step Verification is an essential Security Control, preventing unauthorized account access and data breaches from occurring from within the Organization.

Additionally, with the 2-Step Verification requirement applied, failure to have an Authenticator App AND a Recovery Phone/Email enabled under Security Methods will result in Account Lockout, such as below.

Enabling 2-Step Verification

1. Begin by logging into your Gmail account. Click on your Profile Manager, then select Manage Account.

2. Click on the Security Tab.

3. Scroll down to "How you sign in to Google". Ensure you have a Recovery Phone and Recovery Email setup FIRST.

4. Once Recovery Phone/Email is set, click on 2-Step Verification.

5. Scroll down to the "Second Steps" window and select "Authenticator".

6. Click on "Set Up Authenticator".

7. A QR Code will appear -- we'll need to download the Google Authenticator app from the App store now.

If you already have the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can use that as well. See: Microsoft Authenticator Mobile App Setup

Verifying 2-Step Verification Setup

2 Methods are required in order for 2-Step Verification to be valid. Having 2 methods ensures that your account won't be locked out when the password is reset, or when 2SV is enforced.

Navigate to security.google.com and verify that you have 2-Step Verification ON, Authenticator is Added, and that a Recovery Phone and Recovery Email is set

If not, add a recovery phone/email, and complete the steps above to add an Authenticator App to your google account.
