Re-adding Waves to Sonos controller
The steps below are for computers running the latest version of Mac OS (Sonoma). Before you change Sonos settings please ensure you upgrade to Mac OS Sonoma 14.5
- Mac OS Upgrade Steps:
- On your Mac, click on the Apple icon on the top left of your screen
- Select Systems Settings
- Select General
- Select Software Update
- If there is an available update, please upgrade to Mac OS 14.5. This may take up to an hour to complete
- Open the Sonos app and browse to Manage -> Music Library Settings
- Remove all file shares
- Open Systems Settings -> General. At the bottom of the page take note of the Local hostname as it will be used in a subsequent step
- Open System Settings -> General Sharing and enable File Sharing
- Click the information button
- Enable File Sharing
- Under Shared Folders click the + button and add the Music folder (Users/Username/music)
- Under Users select Everyone assign read only permissions
- Select the active user and assign read and write permissions
- Click Options
- Enable Share files and folders using SMB and Check the on box for the Active user account
- When prompted for password enter the password for the computer
- Click Done
- Click Done
- Return to the Sonos controller app
- Restart the app
- In the menu bar select Manage -> Music Library Settings
- Click the + to add a Network share
- Select Network Device (ex. NAS drive)
- Enter \\LocalHostName\music (replace LocalHostname with the name identified in Step 2
- Next
- Enter the Username and Password for The MacBook account
- Click Done
- Close the Music Library Settings window
The Music folder should now be shared, and you should have Music Library under select a music source. Browse to the Waves file-> select the room-> click play-> enable loop and crossfade.
